recomendation of aftermarket 12" drivers

Over a year ago, I bought the subwoofer from ebay, its an M&K VX-1200 sealed cabinet with a M&K 250 watt plate amp. and a unknown 12" driver.

Today I removed the driver on my subwoofer to see what kind it was... Well it's a Misco oc12wf-4b info here To say the least the driver feels light and cheap:o.
I would like to upgrade the driver and wanted opinions or suggestions on what drivers to use. I tried making sense of all the parameters, but I'm clueless. I was looking in parts express, but I need help!

Thanks

You would want to duplicate as close as possible 4-5 of those specs + dimensions and mounting config. That is if the driver that was used was really the best for the box. You may be able to improve it a little, depends on how much you want to spend and what results you want.

Check out the D.I.Y. section down lower on the main page and here is a link with lots of design calculator and sw links.

Myself, unless you really enjoy the work and want to be able to say you did it, I feel that there are so many good to great subs out there that it will cost you almost as much $$ D.Y.I. to equal those subs it is not worth it. YMMV

    Thanks,
Of those parameters which should I consider most, or are most important?

You can get the original M&K driver on-line. http://www.mavin.com/index.php/products/mk-miller-and-kreisel-12-woofer-model-17035-8-ohm is one site that offers them. I have a couple of V125s, and they go down to 20 hz easily.

I have 2 of these and they are flipping awesome! Check out the reviews at www.partsexpress.com.

If you have a smaller ported enclosure...I'd go with the HO instead of the HF but the HF is awesome for a sealed box.

feel free to drop a line petehoffman@pldi.net.

What is the cubic feet on the box? If you can give us the outside dimensions of the box we can help select a good replacement for you.

Edit: Is the cutout 11.3", or is the OD of the driver 11.3" Is the driver recessed? If so what is the recess diameter?
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
