Gents and Gal (assuming there's at least one in this forum;) ),
Any experience with Sherbourn amps? it has been compared favorably to B&K Amps line, at less price, specifically 7/2100 (200x7) mono block designed, separate transformers, etc...
As always, your opinions are greatly appreciated...
Thanks all

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Sound and Vision reviewed a Sherbourn product in the latest issue.. I was thinking it was a receiver.. but maybe just an amp. From what I took from the article, there is more than a passing relationship between Sherbourn and Outlaw Audio. The Sherbourn PT-7000 looks to be the same component - at least outwardly - as the Outlaw 950. I didn't go other product-to-product comparisons.. but they are both in MA, also.
The S&V review was positive. -
Burdette,
Thanks for the feedback. I was told that Sherbourn processor is a rebadged of outlaw processor, but the amp is completely new designed. I'll check S&V for the review...I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
The Pre/pro are similar in some ways not in others, the power amps are different. The Sherbourn is built like a tank weighing in at some 115lbs. about 90lbs for the Outlaw. Price is very different $899 for the Outlaw pre/pro, $1500 for the Sherbourn, $1700 for the Outlaw Amp, save another $200 if you buy the combo, $2600 for the Sherbourn amp. I read the review don't have it with me right now. But I don't think the Sherbourn was worth the difference in price. But thats just my 2 cents.JmasterJ Polk to the Death

Note:
HBombtoo, has the Outlaw 770 he has endorced the product. I plan to get the Outlaw pre/pro and the 5 channel amp, only because I already own a Carver TFM 35x. I plan to use the Carver with some LSi 15's music, Outlaw with RTi's home theater.JmasterJ Polk to the Death -
Burdette,
I read the article on S&V and indeed, the preamp PT-7000 is the same as the Outlaw 950, with the diff being the higher quality caps used on Sherbourn.
jmasterj,
thanks for the info. Sherbourn 7/2100 is supposedly very well built and *better* than B&K reference 200.7 MSRP $2600, street $1800 ish. Separate monoblock and isolated channels in true sense...I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
