I was surfing kijiji last night at about 2 am and see someone listing boxes of records, 200-300 in a 'Get them out of here NOW' kind of ad. The price: 40 bones.
So I email the guy with a quick "Sold Sold Sold. I'll call you in the AM SOLD"
Call him in the morning and wake his stoned a$$ up. We agree that I'll come by on my lunch break just after 12. Show up at ten after and nobody home. Give him a ring and he's at the mall. He said he'd be home in a short bit. I waited around the rest of my lunch and he was still gone. I head back to work.

(my co-worker was off due to family emerg. so I was the only one working in the shop and we were SWAMPED... otherwise I would have parked for the afternoon if need be)

I text the guy with "Call me when you get home and I'll rush right over, I only work about 5 minutes away"

He texts back an hour later "Some other guy got them. I still have the ones I think are worth some money like the Eagles and Michael Jackson, 10 of them. I'll sell them to you for 20 bucks"

Some pawn shop owner who stalks kijiji probably snagged them and offered him 60 for the works just to profit off of whilst I bust my but trying to make sure they are mine so I can enjoy them on my new/old/crappy but good to me TT I just acquired regardless, the guy is a knob and royally ruined my day.

but I have his address...... I better stay off the booze for a few days until I forget where he lives.

Has anyone else had similar kijiji/CL BULLS*** like this happen?

Yep, already happened to me. I was the first caller and made the deal and everything. Calls me back a little later saying that he didn't realize his wife has already sold them....yeah right.

first off what the hell is kijiji? I think that's your first problem right there... ;)

    secondly, he's as ****-hat.

thirdly, you got $$ left in your pocket. :)

Its another free ad-listing like CL, just not as popular.

And yes that's happened to me on CL before. Just when you think you've convinced the seller that you WILL without a doubt purchase said-item, they go out and sell it off to someone else.

HMM, I had a guy pull the same BS on me..."Oh I want to keep them...didn't know the wife had listed them..." then I saw them back on CL a week later for twice the price.

....and the guy wasn't even married...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

This is the "quote" of the thread. Sig. material, if you know what I mean...... ;)
