I've had my eye on this one for a couple of months.First,a little history,,this one was born in1987 shortly after the Manley's moved their amplifier manfacture to California. This one has survived the years and comes to me,bone stock, even has the Russian made "coin base 5881's" original output tubes with the VTL brand on the tubes.I've only had her playing for a couple of hours, and I'll say that I just moved up a few rows, lol. The bass is tight, sweet, sweet mids, with good high's(maybe cause the tubes need to be replaced.eh?) One thing that struck me was the "tone" of the amp,,intriguing, kinda' pulls you in.Some folks might call it "dark". All in all I'm happy so far,,for a twenty year old amp,it's it outstanding condition. More later,as the story unfolds,,magic smoke,,, yes,, enjoy the pic's,, just had to share.
Be sure to look at Double "G's" vinyl thread in the FM.

the original owner had it for years,, got little use as of late,, so thru a series of events,I picked it up,, paid 475.00 shipped,, not a great deal, but considering the condition,,a decent deal, nontheless. What I'm most impressed with is the punch and tone this little puppy has,,gonna get it re-tubed and then we'll see what happens.JC approves....he told me so. There is still hope as the race to bottom slows a bit.
nice george, very nice, your going to get Captain Kirk status with all this you have been doing with audio. You know when you think about all the quality stuff that been bought and passed amongst us, we sure do have some great stuff floating around the club, wonder what it would look like if collected all in one room.
see you soon.

George, I have been following your info on the vtl stereo 50.
I just bought one myself. Would you have a nice clear picture of the underneath? Mine has all DC heaters even for the power tubes and the only schematic I found indicates AC heaters for the power tubes.
