The Beatles Remastered Catalogue comes out in a few days (Sept. 9) & I'm wondering who's going to be buying it. I plan to, but to be honest, I'd like to hear / read a review of the sound quality before taking the plunge.

So, who's willing to play Guinea pig? :D

Not me, not a fan of their music at all.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

I'd stay away from it. Most of the recent big name "re-masters" have generally sounded like $hit. They are following the trend for louder recordings at the cost of fidelity.

Besides, how many times have the Beatles been re-mastered?
I've got copies of the Japanese Red Mono Set and I see no reason for any other version(s).
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I'll probably pick up the stereo set eventually. I'm waiting to hear some reviews on it first though.

My Beatles collection is fairly small, so I'm just looking at it as a quick and easy way to finish the collection off.

If the new remasters sound anywhere near as good as Love does, I'll be happy with them.

You've gotta admit, for the price of the box set, it's a pretty good deal.

I'm not a big fan of them but did hear at work over the radio that they had soldout all their copies on the preorders alone. Good lord that has to be some kinda record for sales (no pun intended). I guess in the set you get every record they ever made or something like that.

I've tried many times . . . I just can't get into the Beatles. Give me any other band from that generation, I love all of them.

Yeah, I'm probably in at some point. But not anytime soon. My budget is shot!

    +1

I've been buying a lot of gear lately, and haven't really been able to get any new music recently. Eventually I'll get to a point where I'll be (temporarily) satisfied with my rig, and go on a music buying spree. The Beatles stereo box set will definitely be on the list.
