Title says it all, how do these guys get these kind of stocks, the price is quite less, but we all know the hassles if something happens and the risk with buying from them, any body how this happens:confused:........also i never see DSW MP 3000 in most of the online authorised stores.

I do not know how but can only guess.
    1. the least likely would be counterfeit. Haven't heard of this happening with Polk yet.

    2. Again a guess but more than likely a authorized dealer with low scruples(possibly exporter) has back door deals going on. Possibly as part of the agreement with Polk a dealer has to move xx amount of product, but can't do it on their own, so they dump some off to unauthorized sellers. Or as part of the agreement they have to take some number of a certain model, but for their demographics/location know those will not move well for them. So again out the back door.
Or the more they move the cheaper their price. So to get volume pricing they commit to more than they can sell, and again out the back door. I think this would be a big breach of contract on the authorized sellers part.

Again just guesses, maybe someone would comment with accurate knowledge.

I noticed that KingpinAV always has so many polk listings, but they always seem overpriced on what I saw. Like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Polk-Audio-Monitor-30-Bookshelf-Speakers-T2715-T2716_W0QQitemZ150369714563QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSpeakers_Subwoofers?hash=item2302bbc183&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14

$150 for a used, beat-to-hell pair of Monitor 30's that I could get on Newegg for $100 new with free shipping. I wonder if they sell anything at those prices.

I believe Kingpin AV buys stuff used from folks looking for cash. I have seen a bunch of Polk subs with scratches and chips on them....think there is also a link to the store to sell your stuff. I would rather go with Polk Direct myself

If I remember correctly, that name kingpin appeared in Audiogon with many polk offerings that almost seemed to good to be true. Always had dinged up merchandise. But was almost half the cost of new stuff. What caught my eye was RTIa9's for 1100 bucks. But after a couple weeks everything was gone.

I think that was the name but I could be wrong.......He seems to have very good FB on ebay....
