I noticed that on the back of my head unit is a digital coax input.

I believe the digital coax needs to be an output in order to use with a processor. Is this correct?

Does anyone know what the digi coax input on a head unit is for?

the digital out from your hu needs to go to a processor. At your processor you would set your ta / eq for left and right side etc. The DAC in the processor would then convert the digital signal back to analogue which would be fed to your amp.........

Im not sure if any processor uses digital coax, they all use optical as far as I know. Your head unit is a DVD player and this output would go to a 5.1 surround receiver for your car.
