turntable help

i just got a audio-technica at-pl 120 turntable,hooked it up according to the manual,plugged it into my onkyo 806,and i've got a buzzing noise coming thru the speakers. the buzzing increases and decreases with the volume.

there is no ground wire anywhere to be found on the t/t

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

    i was using the phono imput on the 806,with the pre amp of the turntable off,per the manual

    the onkyo manual said to try the cd imput on the 806 with the turntable pre amp on.

    presto chango..........no more buzzing.....and it sounds fantastic
