All I can say is that their little, stereo brother, the 8B, is one of the finest amplifiers I've ever heard with my own ears in my own house. The 9s add to that more power (which may or may not be a good thing) and beautiful and timeless cosmetics (do they look 45 years old?).

The 8B is on my life list; the 9s are a little beyond my grasp (even in dreams).

(I re-hab'bed this one for its proud owner a few years ago and I was completely smitten with it -- and still am)

Wow! That 8b is just like it came out from factory yesterday. You are lucky to give a new life to these babies and time to be with them. Didn't you wish you could have kept them?

If I have known these Marantz will be so highly regarded today, I would have bought at least a pair of 7, 8 and 9. Even the reissues and replica are still very sought after in the 9 series and fetch a good value.

Yes. After I heard it on my Cornwalls, I was hell-bent on getting one (still am).
