Adcom GTP-400

Well, i picked up a GTP-400 that i posted up on the Deals of the Day thread a couple weeks back. I have no use for it, and it has a hopefully minor issue, but i have no desire or need to keep trying to troubleshoot it.

The Good:

Pretty good cosmetic condition. Minor scratches on top. Face is in great shape. Powers up just fine, sounds pretty decent.

The Bad:

Tuner is finicky at best. FM doesn't really work. AM kindof does. Left channel cuts out. Has been repaired before for grounds and transformer board cracking at some point.


The info so far: HB27 took a look at it, and noticed that the cutting issue was worse when trying to use the FM tuner, so he thinks that it's tied together somehow. Also, you can mess with the main outs, if you jiggle them, the signal will come back in to the left channel.

It wasn't worth it to me to fix it on top of the price that i already paid for it. BUT, i figure it might be worth it to someone to fix it if they got it for free, or to use for parts for one of their GTPs. Or hell, someone more technically savvy might be able to fix it easily. I have no idea.

Winner will be drawn on September 4th. I will accept shipping refunds if you feel so inclined, but it's not going to stop me from giving this thing away if you can't afford it. I know everyone is broke. I'm waiting to give it away til the 4th, because that's when i can afford to ship it. ;)

    You DO all know that it has issues, right? I wasn't expecting anyone to be THIS excited about it.... just sayin'. I made sure that i made it pretty clear in the first post... don't want the winner coming back to me saying "wtf man! my free **** doesn't work right!"
