I picked up Batman Arkham yesterday for the 360. I have to say this is one of the coolest 360 games I have ever played. The Dark Knight is awesome in this game that is about as real life as you can get. He has a cool Detective mode that lets you analyze clues and identify threats. His stealth mode is awesome and I love taking out bad guys one by one and disappearing- or hanging above them and pulling them up with one hand to choke them out. The criminals even start getting all scared and shooting into the shadows- "I thought I saw him over there!". All of the tools are cool and the upgrades to the armor are equally tough. So much fun!

I am calling this one game of the year for single player so far this year. I have some high expectations for upcoming games but if you are even moderately into Batman you will probably dig this game.

I played the demo and am on the fence... so for people who played the game...

is every room kind of the same with grappling to gargoyles, flying down beating a few people up, flying back up the gargoyles? I realize other strategies might work, but are all the rooms so similar?

No, they're not. They mix it up with detective work, fights, the stealth bits, etc. Plus, as you get gadgets, there are all new ways to take out enemies (like exploding gel on windows!). I was actually shocked at how much better and different it is from the demo. Even the intro scene where you bring the Joker in is much longer and directed, much like the openings of Bioshock or Half-Life.

So.... How far into the game are you guys?

    SPOILER ALERT............

I'm at the part in the game where you turn into Bruce as a child where he kneels next to parents when they were killed. Afterward you must pass the scarecrow again so I'm close to getting by the crow, but I've been playing since 5am and I'm tired.

My thoughts so far remain the same, the game is definitely worth buying. I'm loving the combos and upgrades. Share your thoughts on this one guys. Has anyone completed it yet?

Sadly, I haven't played the game since the first night I got it. Got my Oppo BDP-83 in and have been spinning BD discs like mad, but I plan on coming back to Batman by this weekend.

Played the game for a couple of hours and I'm still on the fence about it. I loved bioshock and can't say that the overall package is as polished, but it is impressive. Still getting used to the freeflow fighting system so maybe my take on it will be more positive after I complete 10% of the game :-)

Unfortunately you will still have to find the ducts and make your way through them. I kind of hate going through those things so much but you will have to go through them quite a bit. Make sure you upgrade the range on it ASAP.

I really enjoyed this game, although it only had around 20 hours of gameplay on normal for me.

Best part was killer croc, simply because it was a bit nerve-wracking never knowing just when he'll pop up.
