Getting my roomate into this mad hobby...

Well, i've finally convinced my roomate that even a starter decent 2-channel setup would be a huge improvement from his Sony Dream system.

He picked up a pair of RT2000Ps for $200. Now he needs stuff to go with it.

Let's figure a low as possible budget. He's just looking to get his feet wet, but still be able to sufficiently power the 2000ps.

Setting a cap of $150 for the time being, what should we be looking for? I know it's really low, but he's a mechanic, and work is slow for him right now. I'm hoping i get my preamp situation taken care of soon, so i can just give him my GTP-400 and he can grab a decent amp with his $150, but if that doesn't happen.... it's back to the drawing board.

Any easy to find, decent sounding equipment that will fit the bill? Need a pre/amp or integrated, or even a decent reciever could work.

That Acoustic Research stuff fell through. Seller let it go from underneath us. I'd sell him my VSX-D850S, but it's lacking the remote right now, and it would put him a little bit out of his comfort level, and i'm not real impressed with the power it puts out by itself. If it can't power my M7s to my satisfaction, it won't do real well with the rt2000ps i don't think.

Soooo... shoot me some ideas. :)

Thanks!
