Looking for a center channel that would go with the old polk rta 8tl. Or would i have to take the drivers and crossovers and make my own, and if so, what would the dimensions have to be for the box/cabinet?

The CSi5 or CSi A6 would probably be your best bet as far as the newer center channels go.

The ideal solution would be to build a matching center using the same drivers as the RTA 8TL though.

If you decide to go that route, you might want to post a thread in the DIY section of the forum.

By the way, welcome to Club Polk!:)

Get another RTA 8TL and lay it on its side. ;)

Seriously, tho, I don't know if Polk made a center with the SL2500 or RDO198 tweeter.

    Good luck.

I have a CSi5 I am using with my RTA-8TL's and I think they blend very well.
It's 6.5" MW's carry much better bass than the 5.25" MW in the CS1 I had before. As far as I know the 8TL's are the only speakers with the MW6516, so i you wanted matching MW's you would have to build one.

I do find that I typically 'tune it down' 3-4db with HDtv HT (comcast) but that maybe just me. (I don't think they are broadcasting alot of channels in true 5.1) I don't usually need to for movies or music.

FYI: there is one in the FS right now for a great deal. Half what I paid a couple of months ago.
