Velodyne Ct 120 crosover settings?

I just picked one up on craigslist for $65 and I was wondering what I should use for its settings. I am using a Polk CS2 for my center channel and Polk R50 for my other four speakers. I have the settings for the speakers on my STRDG720 receiver to "small." Also, I am using the LFE output to send the signal to the subwoofer. It seems that even when the volume is all the way up, that the subwoofer is a little quiet. I hooked it up to straight RCA cables from a DVD player, and that thing could get loud. I am just not getting that when using the LFE output on my receiver (I also have a PSW10 and the LFE works good on that). I am also using a Y adapter for the subwoofer so I can hook the subwoofer cable to both of the RCA inputs.
Thanks for the help.

with the LFE output on the reciever you should set your low pass crossover as high as possible to create a LFE input on the sub. the high pass crossover does nothing for the way you have it hooked up and for the volume try switching the phase of the speaker.

nileriver, i have the same sub. I actually replaced the factory sub with a Diamondaudio Mac Daddy car audio sub, (what a difference). I would recommend since the r50's only have two 6 1/2 woofers, to set the subs x-over around 80-100. What your goal is to have a seemless blend between the speakers and the sub. I have the RTi A9's. I have my x-over directly on 80, using the internal x-over on the Velodyne. In my listening room I get a better bass response when I have the phase set to 180. Since my rtia9s are full range I find my self just turning the Velodyne off. Turn it on for movies though...

Niles, if you are using the x-over on the receiver, you should then set the x-over on the sub all the way up on the sub.
What dB setting (in the receiver) do you have the sub set at? Try increasing it and see if that makes a difference.
Also have you checked the CT 120 manual as to which input to use? If I remember, some of them use different input RCA's for LFE, some like both.
DO you have preouts? (Full range ones) try those.
