Selling my beloved preamp only because I've upgraded to the "Signature Edition" version.

The previous owner had the unit upgraded to have Balanced outputs! Comes with almost new pair Jan Philips tubes, remote, power cord and original packing/box. I'm rating it conservatively 8/10 condition. No scratches or blemishes. This unit is not the Signature Edition.

This preamp has won TAS Editor's Choice Award and has another excellent review by 6Moons Here.

Price is $1295 shipped within USA. I prefer money order, but can accept Paypal. Paypal add 3%. I'm also listing this on Audiogon.

You'll have to pardon my toob noob lack of knowledge, but are those the tube sockets on the back of the unit beside the "Output to Amplifier" connections?

Never mind, I see them inside now.

But now I don't know what those pinned outputs on the back are.

No. Those are balanced outputs for an XLR connection.

I can't believe its still here for sale. I guess this pre is like some other pieces of gear. It moves with the audio tide. One week this pre wouldn't last a day on the market here. The next week you can't give it away. Just like the Jolida CDP's.

Good luck with the sale. I see where you've already moved up the ladder to the sig edition, but if you'd like to try something else I have a few Conrad Johnson pre's to use as a trade.

I hear you about the audio tide. I'm really into my new signature edition and will likely stick to that for a long time.

That's a great tube pre-amp and the kind of piece that stays for awhile. He upgraded to a better model...that should speak volumes. I wouldn't waste but another week here Erndog...get that puppy to Audiogon.

If I was setting up another 2CH rig anytime soon, I'd love to get intimate with this preamp for awhile.

I am really interested in this pre, but will have to sell some stuff to collect the money to buy it. If I can get the money in time I will probably buy it though. I will get back to you when I have the money collected and it will hopefully be available still.

    Greg

It's interesting there are no XLR inputs though. Did they make a version with them?

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I like very much. I'll let you know at the end of the weekend. If you have a chance to sell it, DO IT, no worries as I have to do some research and finance considerations.

What tubes does it run? 12AX7 or 12AU7?

P.s. what I'm saying is don't hold it for me if you have a cash in hand buyer.

Greg- Modwright no longer offers this upgrade on their 9.0 SE. They now offer a totally balanced preamp LS 36.5, which costs a small forture but sounds awesome, so I'm told. Let me know when you are ready to buy.
