Yard Sale TT

I just picked up a Pioneer PL 12E turntable from a yard sale for 10 bucks.
Good score? I know nothing of these things. Seems to have a nice tone arm and newer cartridge.
Seems to work fine except for the broken belt. Could someone advise where I could pick up a belt without having to make one out of a rope?

Nice, that one goes into to bookmark file for sure.
Thanks for the link.
Is this thing a decent entry level TT? -
Here is another link that may work even better.

How about a picture of the turntable? -

Mint. Thanks a ton. I'll keep this thing until I find something better at a yard sale. Gotta start somewhere right? I'll post a picture of the thing and a closeup of the cartridge after I have a nap. Thanks again for the info. I googled around and came up with squat so the links help a ton!

PL-12E? Don't know that one. The PL-12D was entry-level but pretty nice. We've got one which my daughter used through college.

I know the quality of these captures are poor, but this might be helpful. These are from a manual scan database maintained as an adjunct to AK; taken from a 1974 European brochure.

Manuals for the PL-12D are available at

Sure, it starts out as a good yard sale find.
A year from now you'll be buying a Scoutmaster
and hanging out on the FM looking for your next
GG vinyl fix.

I had'nt, but I see they have what looks like a generic replacement aswell.
GV try this one.
