on my Center: Polk Audio CS245i speaker. It was working before i hooked up to amp.
Now it is not working and wife can hear constant buzzing when she put her ear up to the center speaker. it was very low buzzing sound and just now she tried that again, no sound at all.
my two fronts works fine..
does this mean my center broke or blown?
Anyone wanna talk my wife on the phone and help??? PLEASE!!! Perhaps listen on the phone?? PLEASE HELP! Thank u

Are you certain you have all of your RCA cables connected to the correct inputs on the reciever? And your speaker wires to the proper speakers?

You could try hooking it to another channel on the amp just to rule out that channel as being bad....What does the amp do when you first turn it on?

Swap the center speaker with the front L or R temporarily to determine if the problem is with the speaker, or with settings/connections/amp.Speakers: Polk LSi15

Ok! The constant buzzing she hears from the center is low level hum usually caused by ground loop problems. You can try lifting the ground by using a cheater plug and see it disappears. I guess it's best you let your wife reading this thread since there will be a lot of suggestions for her by many other folks here.
If there is nothing coming out from the center and you think you hooked up the wire correctly, first check your AVR to make sure it's not in stereo mode (it should be in some kind of surround mode). Also, check your speaker levels for center channel. If all is well and still no sound from the center, you need to switch the rca cable to see if it helps. Sometimes, the faulty (shorted) RCA cables will cause the problem. After swapping the cables and still no sound from the center, hook up the center (and center rca) to a different channel on the amplifier and see it works now. If it does, your amplifier center channel is out. If it doesn't, ask other folks here.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

Double check the center connections and make sure all is well in the AVR configuration... -

You now know that it's not the speaker. It could still be the amp. To check that, swap the IC cables on your amp -- swap FL with Center.
If it's not a bad amp channel, then as megasat suggested, check IC's, speaker cable connections, and AVR/processor settings to make sure the center is turned ON and that a mode that outputs to the center is selected.Speakers: Polk LSi15

I can sense that this will most definitely probably fix your problem if you're
lucky. -
My wife hears a constant buzzing, too. But I don't think it has anything to do with hi fi.

Cable is notorious for ground loop hum. Cure it with a TOSLINK connection from the cable box to your processor.TNRabbit
