I'm going to be in the Outer Banks for a week starting tomorrow. I know quite a few of you live in N.C. and a few of you even live in the OBX. If anyone wants to meet up just pm me. I will be checking my pms off and on tonight and tomorrow. After that I am off the radar for a week. Have fun all and don't let the Polk bugs bite.;)

**Plenty of food and beer. We have our own pool, for any of you that may be handicapped we have an elevator in the house so no worries. If any of you need a ride I can provide that as well. Anything anyone needs I will hook ya' up. I will be staying near Duck/Corolla.**

Have a good time! I stayed in Duck last time I was out that way. Nice quiet family oriented beach. Some great scenery too. Back bay at sunset was very beautiful.

Just make sure you watch the marine advisories. I imagine Hurricane Bill is going to cause some real heavy surf up that way in the next week or so.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I've been keeping track of this storm so far. Every year we always get hurricane insurance so if something does go screwy we're not out all that money. I imagine the red flags will be up but not to worry as there is so much to do there. Just finished packing everything so in the morning all that's left to do is shower and eat.

    Have fun BM! ;)

I would pick you up but my warp drive is damaged at the moment. I don't think my Subaru would make it to Andromeda. I am hoping the parts for my ship will arrive by the time I get back from OBX. :D

I don't drink normally but I am tonight and this week. Off to open up the alcohol and get my buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz on.

Have fun BigMac. If you haven't tried one yet, see if you can get a Samuel Adams Nut Brown Ale while you are down there. Nice offer to fellow Polkies BM but unfortunately I can't make it. Headed the other way this weekend.

Take some pic's if you can please. Been a while since I stomped some ground there.

Well, I'm on the beach drinking some wine and enjoying the last two days before I return home. Taking lots of pics to share once I get back. Weather is awesome and luckily we will miss hurricane Danny since we are leaving on Saturday around 10 or so. Hope all is well with everyone. Not going to read any of the posts till I get back so that way I have something to look forward to. Take care all.:D

I have been taking a few pics here and there but started taking alot of them tonight. Tomorrow I am going to take even more.

As I am typing this the water is coming in on my feet and there are the little crabs everywhere. It's a nightly thing to go out to the beach after dark with the flashlights and look at them. Tonight they are out in full force. Tomorrow is my last day so it is going to be a very busy day. Jockey's Ridge (for the millionth time),go carts (yeeeee haaaa),beach, pool at night, etc. This was probably one of the best trips to the Outer Banks I have had in quite some time. Talk to ya'll soon.

I had a great time and kinda glad to be back safe and sound. On the next to last day a 12 year old boy went missing. I was only 2 sections away from where he was missing. There were Coast Guard helicopters, boats, divers, what seemed like the whole Corolla lifeguard team, people on waverunners and people just walking up and down the beach with binocs. When I left on Saturday morning his body was still not found.

Usually every night we go out to the beach and watch the little crabs that are everywhere. I went out the night he went missing and NOT ONE vacationer was on the beach. The only people out there were the Sherrifs shining spotlights looking to see if his body had washed up on shore. I took some pics of the Helicopter since it was like 20 feet from me at times just hovering. Makes me realize how lucky I am every day that passes that my wife and children are safe and healthy.

Will post pics when I get another cable for the camera as I left mine at the cottage.

We got back a week ago from Duck. The weather was great every day but Friday which gave a few of us to do indoor things. It's a beautiful place thats for sure.
I just showed my 13 year old son your post on the missing boy and we are all sad now. I watch Drew Jr. and my nephew like a hawk while we are swimming. It's good and your family are back safe.

My brother in-laws home is on Sea Hawk in Duck. I gotta ask this, do you know what area the boy went missing? I just told my wife and she's is all upset as I am.
Like I said I watch my son and nephew like a hawk and also look out for everyone else and have to say I have seen some dumb people swimming around in the ocean. No life guards stationed where we swim so it's up everyone to kind of police the area.

I stayed in Ocean Sands section C and everything took place in section A.

We were Saturday to Saturday and red flags were out till Monday. The weather was ok but the rip currents were stronger than normal. What is kinda weird though is on the day the boy went missing the water was pretty calm and the currents were normal. He had a boogie board with him when he went missing but from the talk up and down the beach was they found the board but not him. I woke up around 9:30 am and a few minutes later I started seeing the Coast Guard chopper. At first I thought it was them doing some drills but the chopper stayed. I went to take pics thinking I got lucky only to find out the bad news.

I just found a different cable that works on the camera. Time to upload some pics.

I just loved the unspoiled beaches in the Outer Banks. It feels almost like your own private beach.

One the little crabs that are out after dark on the beach. Some nights there are tons of them everywhere. No need to worry about stepping on them because they feel the vibrations when you walk and they move out of the way.

I'm at OBX this week til Sat. We stayed in Kitty Hawk last year. This year we chose Avon. I love the beach here. So much better for our tastes than OC,MD.
OBX has become my family's destination of choice. Just under 9 hour drive from our friends house in Cumberland , MD.
Glad you had a good time and your family is safe. Sad about the missing child.
