Furniture for audio equip in small space

I just bought a new house, a Bungalow in NW Denver. The living room area is quite cozy, and I do not want to have a TV. However, I do want to have good audio. I'm thinking now that I might want to buy some Owm3s or 5s to hang on the wall. But, I still need a place to put my receiver and CD player. I have an "entertainment center" thing from Ikea right now that's really just a big box with glass doors. It's too deep (designed to hold CRT TV), so will have to go downstairs. I haven't found any bookcases that would be deep enough. Does anyone have ideas or experience getting decent audio into a small space such that the equipment would not be a visual focal point? What works?

In my old house i used a TV wall hanging stand and stacked my gear on it. Worked well, but i have upgraded to audio rack since then

Freecycle, Gumtree, Ebay etc can be okay, but it depends a lot on area you live, how far you're accommodating to biking to aces things up, and how advantageous you get. I assumption they're apparently added advantageous in London and big cities than a lot of added places, what with there getting a lot added humans nearby. Charity Shops are aswell account a attending - there should be some appliance specialist ones around. (And acutely you'll be befitting Mary Portas blessed that way)

I try to not give WalCheese any of my business, but they do have a nice audio rack on the cheap. It is tal,l and has glass shelves. The unit has some very nice features to help keep the wiring clean. Just keep AC away from everything else. It's only $90. It is not listed on the website.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I recommend you check out some antique stores. My wife and I picked up a handmade cabinet and then I used a hole saw to make opening for the speaker wire and interconnects. It looks very classy they typically have plenty of room for components. Very high WAF.Panasonic tc-p0S1, Onkyo TX-SR600 AVR, Definitive Mythos 7, Definitive 7006s, Polk FXi3s, Velodyne CHT12

Especially hand planed oak that is quarter sawn (sp?) and held together by wooden pegs. Those old folks sure knew how to build something to last.
