How do you punish your teenager kids?
My girl was bad (kicked me) and i grounded her to remain in her room for 2 days, no tv, no ipod, no phone calls or friends.
only to remain in room and read books...
i was wondering what do you do when you punish your kids... ideas would give me to punish next time

I have 3 kids 20, 14, & 11. Never had to spank or ground my kids really. The worst thing my Wife and I could do was to let our kids know how much they disappointed us when they screwed up and they responded accordingly. As for other issues, as soon as they know they really pissed me off, they usually re-think the current situation whatever the case may be.Polk Audio Surround Bar 360

I always got grounded and it sucked big time but I'm not really sure that it made a difference. It certainly was torturous while I was grounded but I can't think of a time I thought oh no if I do that I'll be grounded. I'd say try it out and see how your kids react to it but I definitely agree with Knucklehead, the disappointment factors much more heavily. I remember stopping to think about things if I knew my parents would be disappointed. Being grounded usually made me mad even though I was in the wrong but feeling like I had upset or disappointed my parents would eat at me and make me feel much worse.

Well did you kick her back?
I would never ground a kid, at least not in a lightning storm.

I think a good a$$ chewing can be better than a punishment any day. Then again I really know how to chew it since being in the Corps. A time out is indeed a good way to go, take the things that really matter most. So you're off to a good start, no media (PC,TV, Games, Ipod, Iphone, etc) is a good start. Demand an apology as well then reconsider giving things back a few days/weeks later.
On another note hope you did'nt get kicked in the shin, damn that hurts.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

My one daughter is 2 and a half, so she goes in the corner. The other is 6 months old so I don't have to worry about her...yet.

Grounding your kids?
They really shouldn't need to be grounded unless code requires it. If so, don't use the white wire, use the copper wire. And make sure it's tied into the bus bar in the panel.
Cheers, eh? :eek::eek::eek: Chris -

Ha ha, just kidding obviously. I never got sent to my room because with all the stereo stuff and other toys in there it was known that I would have too good of a time.

One of my friends would get grounded and then was forced to live on the couch in the living room with no privacy and no stuff. Some other friends used to get their door taken off their bedroom so they didn't have any privacy. Luckily my parents weren't that cruel, or I didn't screw up bad enough for them to do that.

When my son was little, time outs were pretty effective. But once he hit 8 or so, he would lose his favorite things things for a certain length of time. One time when he faked being sick and admitted it about noon that day he spent the afternoon cleaning out weeds and raking the rock next to the driveway. When his friends came home from school and saw him, he had to tell them why he was doing it.
As a teenager, he was grounded once for 2 weeks, w/out the video game machine, thankfully, he sulked quietly. But the best consequence is once they get to drive, taking away the car keys was a death sentence in his mind the two times it happened.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))
