Thanks for this link as well. Never heard of this movie till now. The trailer looks good and with some of the biggest actors in Hollywood cast in it, I am hopeful it will kick ****. :D

    cool beans.

Of all the traditional monsters my grandson most enjoys those of werewolves, of course as he is only 7 and enjoyed them since an even younger age he needs an adult around to watch them in the Reel Time Theater.

We have watched (more times than I can say) the present day ones like the Underworld series, Van Helsing, etc.........although I suppose a bit off topic of Ron's trailer notice post does anyone have suggestions for other well done werewolf movies that might stand up in the HT, I have perused the local rental store and watched some of the class "B" which he still enjoys although I may not, but its still time together.

Any suggestions appreciated, as most youngsters he likes lots of scenes with the wolf, wolf transformation, he likes pretty women (although he is not quite sure why yet) and needs to have things move along without a great deal of dialogue for sub-plots. I can live with some mild nudity and some language but nothing near the X category would be appropriate. He particularily likes it when the wolf kicks some other monsters ****.

Offered by Universal and everything huh? Maybe there's hope. I hope Benecio, who kind of looks like a wolf to begin with, does credit to Sir Lawrence Talbot. The old lady, and the hottie in the original were both one of a kind.

"An American Werewolf In London", the 80's remake. Great combo of effects, gore and humor. Well paced, well acted. A bit of nudity and language but nothing overboard. In my opinion, the slow, painful tranformation scene, ala Rick Baker is far superior to the quickie CGI stuff they do now.

Looks pretty solid. Big fan of Sir Anthony so its got some weight in the casting at least. Special effects look to be top notch as well. Will have to check this one out.

An American Werewolf in London and The Howling (though there is one scene with nudity) immediately come to mind.

I thought it was horrible. Poorly paced, weak effects, and one of the worst performances I've ever seen from Benicio Del Toro. Just a very mediocre film.

Watched it again last night, like it even more.

But, a couple things stood out that were unexplained. The wolf cane given to Lawrence inside the train, they never really explained it or used it in the film...or did I miss something.

Also, the shotgun with the silver bullets. Sir John Talbot said he removed the powder years ago but you can plainly still see the primer still in place which would still give a cap-gun type explosion and most likely fire the bullet.

Hit the nail on the head in terms of "mediocrity". This flick practically embodied the concept of "meh" and like you, I wanted to love it.

Probably the only thing memorable about this movie was how absolutely ham-fisted the final confrontation was. At least that scene illicited a slight chuckle.

The reason most of you never heard of it is because its so bad they probably wished it would go away without anyone noticing.

Wolfman is a long movie that has a typical Hollywood ending.
