Speaker placement questions
Hi Everyone,
I have attached a diagram to assist with what I am asking. I am trying to figure out the best placement for my FXI A6s. I was intending to run a 5.1 system intially and wondering if I should place them on the sides or the back? If I did decide to go for a 7.1 set up and placed the A6s on the sides what would you recommend for the backs as I do not want a second set of A6s due to cost. Below I have the list of the other components. As you can see from the diagram the room size is not terribly large so I was hoping to get away with just the A6s in a 5.1 but would not be opposed to adding true rears. This is a theater only room. Little or no music and the space behind the couch will have a Golden Tee 2009 tied to the system and a pinball machine with the sub hidden underneath it. Any other guidance on the speakers and whatnot is appreciated Thanks for taking a look!

Welcome to Club Polk. Based on the seating arrangement on your drawing, I think side mounting the speakers would be best.
From my experience with dipole speakers I found it best not to place them more than 24" above your ears and the closer to ear level the better.
As far as 5.1 or 7.1, I'd go with the 5.1 format.
