Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    1C Studio's. Very nice.

They generally sell in the $350-500 range. I've seen them go for as much as $600 though.

Did the SDA-1Bs ever come in black? Other than the finish, they are configured like my 1Bs. Mine came with the SL2000 tweeters and the MW6509s.

I wonder how they would blend in sonically with the 1.2tl's as surrounds if I used the RD0 tweeters? He wants $300.00 for these but I will try and offer him $200.00 if they look and sound good cuz im a cheap bastage and I would have to buy another pair of RD0's :D

Yup im a thief :D but I really dont need these other than I bought a pair of RD0 tweeters the other day in the hopes of finding a pair of CRS's to use as surrounds but these will work as well. The good thing is these are only 85 lbs or so each and about a foot shorter than the 1.2TL's so it will be a breeze hauling these up a couple flights of stairs.

Thanks for the help guys. :)

Just so you know, the 194's don't sound anything like the 198's.

Would I be better off leaving the SL 2000's in these or just not getting these? I havent upgraded the tweeters on my 1.2tl's yet to the 198's.

Too bad Polk didnt make any mini me 1.2TL's for surrounds

Well, neither the SL2000 or the RD0194-1 sound anything like the SL3000 or the RD0198-1. You could always find a pair or CRS+ (pin/blade) or a pair of 2B's (pin/blade) and do the TL upgrade to them, so that you'd have a timbre match.

Just thought of another option. One of the RTA xxTL series would work too, but no SDA.

Good Idea this would probally be the best option of them all because I dont I really need the SDA effect while using them in a 5.1 or 7.1 HT manner and not even sure how good they would sound as surrounds being used this way.

I just had my hopes up about the 1C's because there are so few vintage Polks that come up for sale local to me. I have only seen 2 other pair of vintage polks for sale here one was a pair of SDA 2B's which I bought and couldndtd stand the sound of and a pair of 5JR's.
