Today I went through the vintage section of the Polk site, determined to find out what that beautiful speaker was at the top of the page. I found it, and I am willing to trade a substantial portion of my life for these speakers. Only serious inquiries please.

How would I benefit by making this trade?

o wow, haha, I am so jealous of him. It's a shame, though, you can't trade because he already has your life in his hands. They do cost an arm and a leg though.

I and others here on the forum heard a full set of very nice SRTs at PF08. While I would not mind owning them...I would not trade a minute of my life for them. Very nice speakers? Definitely. A piece of history? Certainly. The best ever? Nope. I could certainly buy a pair if I choose to do so...but my life? It's worth WAY MORE than a set of SRTs! I'll pass.

    ShackDaddy,

Fact is you have already traded/sold most of your expendable body parts to pay for things. I even heard you are considering giving that last nut up, not like you really need it though.

    But you Rock.

NOT TRUE! I'm leaving my body as a gift to all mankind...for scientific research of course. I want them to have as many parts as possible. Until they get this cloning thing worked out...it's the best I can do.

I don't know about nuts...but I tend to hold onto my NADs...I kinda like them.

    BTW...did I mention HBD Ted?

I agree with Shack and I have a pair of SRT....they're pretty cool but not a replacement for my Magnepan.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think I was just overtaken by the beauty of the them. The sound I would probably prefer sdas, but the looks? They are sexy.

ps - I was wondering when zombies were going to enter into this. Thank you GG.

The SRT's are definitely a good looking speaker, but I'd say grab yourself some RT3000P's up front, some 1000p's/2000p's for rear, F/X 1000's for the sides, CS1000p center and maybe a PSW1200 or 1000 and youre set :D

Lol, well what I suggested you can pick up over time when others sell off their components. I've had chances to grab RT20P's (same as the 2000's), and a CS1000P at different times. That in itself wouldve been overkill for my place  can't imagine having an SRT system. But I've heard that there are common problems with amps going bad for the built in subwoofers on their fronts (on SRT's that is)

What kind of a difference would I see from some rtia5's fxi a4's and csi a6 to those? Astronomical? I have always looked skeptically at vintage speakers just because I like the security of owning new things with warrantys and the like. I value the sound of speakers like the sdas but I have always found the idea of buying them difficult.

I think the valid question to ask is does your Health Insurance Company allows you to buy Insurance?
