I have narrowed it down to two models. I had wanted to go with the Polk LSI system but the rear surrounds were to big for the wife.
My number one problem is size.
Choice is number 1
I am looking at the Klipsch XF-48 system

THE XF-48 CAN BE PURCHASED NEW FOR $499 AT VANNS EACH
Choice is number 2
The other system is BP 7004 or BP 7002
The BP7004 would be exactly as tall as the tops of the Reference Klipsch RSX 4 speakers shown in the pictures.
I was at the Magnolia room today and auditioned the Klipsch xf48 versus the Definitive bp7004
I was slightly disappointed in the Definitive in that they did not seem nearly as bright. However I am worried about the Klipsch since so many people inform me that you grow tired of their sound after listening.
The BP 7004 measures 42 inches tall the exact distance to the height of the
Everything but the subwoofer, I already have the PSW 1000. It is setting behind the TV in the pictures (not visible)
TV is 46 Flat Panel Sharp.

Thanks, but I need floorstanders to cover up the wires in back from the side view.
I had the same system in my apartment as well with a different subwoofer and onkyo receiver it did sound nice. -
Anyone?

I like DT's and dislike Klipsh. Don't ask me why, it's just the way I hear them. IF, repeat IF you can find a pr. of BP7006, 4, or 2 towers, for the same price as those Klipsch, I'd say grab them!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Yes home theater is primary, but we also listen to alot of music via IPOD and dish network has SIRUS radio.
Went to Best buy and auditioned them again. The wife thought definitive might have sounded cleaner. However I thought musically Klipsch had a better sound. They were hooked up to a denon 2300. I noticed that the Definitive had to be turned up alot more than the klipsch -
Horn speakers like Klipsch are inherently more efficient so they need LESS power to sound LOUD. That does not make them 'better' than the Def Tech.
Personally I agree with your wife, Def Techs are a bit cleaner. I find Klipsch speakers a bit 'muddy' outside their brilliant horn highs.
But it's a matter of taste...some like 'horns'!
If you have the money you should really consider the Def Tech MYTHOS slim tower series and see what you think. Get them to run a set off a Pioneer Elite ICE-amp...and see how they compare with the Klipsch for you.
I realize those are a bit pricey.
cnhCurrently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!
Polk Lsi-7s, Def Tech 8" sub, HK 3490, HK HD 990 (CDP/DAC), AKG Q701s

IF you don't mind them in silver, they can be had for $1k each, as opposed to $1,500 ea. for black.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Thanks for all the help. I am negotiating a set of used supposedly like new BP7002 locally.
Will I be able to delete the PSW 1000 subwoofer from my current setup with the BP7002, since the pair has the on board sub?
Or will I be missing some of the lower octave
