Hi Everyone

I just wanted to announce that the City of Washington DC and the Washington Humane Society have deemed my wife Erica and I worthy of adopting a dog.

We picked her up on Saturday.

Her name is Hope;
And she is a wonderful 1 year old 40lb Lab/Pit Mix.

    Excellent work.

That combination of breeds should turn out to be a great mix, pits are smart as hell and you can't go wrong with a lab. I've found pound puppies seem to appreciate their owners just a bit more, too.

I bet you had to fill out more forms for the dog than you would if you were to adopt a baby! LOL

    Nice looking puppy!

Congrats! I adopted a puppy a few weeks back as well (and went through absolutely no hassle to do so, as opposed to some horror stories I've heard about people going through long auditions for adoption). He's been fantastic.

    Enjoy the new pup!
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

This had so much potential. You could've gone big and used "Nice looking ****. . . and the dog's not bad either." So close to brilliant. But, at least yours was tasteful.

The pup does look nice and athletic! I took in a stray Pit Bull, and while one day it may have snapped and gone insanely violent, it was a lovely dog for the few days we took care of it. Best of luck with both of them!

Make no mistake, I typed and deleted a few things before being nice which was the right thing to do. Some people just don't do the "right" thing often enough, me being one of them.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words

So far she has been absolutely adorable and affectionate......a really great dog and amazingly sweet........

I can't wait till she heals from her surgery to see how big her boings and bounces are.

She's incredibly agile.......and she is smart......and she looks right at the TV when I turn on my HT........as though she is listening to the Monitor 10s.......

    Rock on

Tonight I'll raise a glass to the new family member, you, your new bride, and also,to all of our dear departed pets that will never be forgotten!!! Let her have an occaisional shoe to chew up, maybe it'll keep her away from all of the dangerous/expensive- power/speaker/IC cables!:eek:PS: you might want to consider using a "Gentle Leader", they're very good for leash training strong/youthful dogs without running the risk of neck/spine injury.:)

    Congrats Ray!

We were at the pound last week looking for pup to go along with our 1 year old Schonxie, sadly we could not find one but more trips are in order. I was surprised at how busy they were, lots of people adopthing.
