Well here I am today, listening in the nude, my speakers nude that is. I decided to take the grills of my TL's and watch my drivers dance along with Diamond dave and company from Van Halen followed by Def Leppard. I feel like I have been at a live concert, and watching those 16 mw's and passives strut their stuff was a blast to watch. Life is good in SDA heaven. Larry, these are just for you my friend. You really should stand up and take a bow for these. I hereby nominate you for Polkie of the Year.

    Nice set up John...

On a different note for the vinyl guys. I realize that there are vinyl cleaning machines and the like. But why is it that when you listen to a TOP radio station in NYC--perhaps a classical station that must have HIGH END equipment, turntables and all the stuff you need to eliminate the snap, crackle and pop. That you still hear the snap, crackle and pop of the record surface???

I've been told that that can be eliminated? Then I wonder. You know the original master tapes those records are pressed from all have some TAPE-HISS on the master...it's there even if you have to 'listen' for it? I guess all I'm asking is doesn't that hinder the enjoyment of the recording at all?

No criticism intended...I just don't understand how you can FULLY clean up a vinyl surface when even as you play, dust and static electricity is forming on it again? Seems like a losing battle. An enjoyable one, but surely 'frustrating'? No?

If there is surface noise or snap crackle and pop you learn to listen past it.

When I listen to my rig...I settle in with a big bowl of Rice Krispies to give me that vinyl sound. Intoxicating!!!
