What would be the difference in sound between the SDA-1C and the SRS-3.1TL ?

Probably not a huge difference. My 3.1's are modified (RDO and X-over) and I am very pleased with them. I used to own a pair of 1.2TL's and they compare nicely to them. They don't have the bottom end extension and the stage is a bit narrower. However, dynamic range is surprisingly similar and detail is a bit better. IMO, this is due to the single tweeter and the correspondingly less complicated X-over.

If you can get them at a good price, grab 'em. Even a stock pair will have the SL3000 tweets. Thats worth something. I think they look a bit nicer as well, with the side wood trim.
