Yamaha PX-3 Straight-Line Tracking Table/Grado Cart - $200 (I just got finished messing around with it and everything seems to work fine. I can't tell what model the Grado is, my eyes can't see that small anymore. It is black and white. Plexiglass cover has much less than normal wear and is quite presentable. The table itself does not have a scratch. One "foot" needs to be re-seated. The rubber boot slipped off and needs to be played with. Absolutely will not ship.)
JBL S-38 Speakers - $175 From the "Studio Series", Stereophile raved about them. A 10" ported two-way that they said stayed very coherent no matter how loud you made them. In black w/ a couple scratch. VERY presentable.
JBL HLS-810 and HLS Center Channel Spkrs - Pair of 8" horn-loaded ported two-ways with matching horn center-channel. In black, no scratches on sides or tops. $75
BIC V52 - 5 1/4" ported two-way. $20
DBX DAV600G Program/Route Selector (Original Box) $40 Gorgeous.
Denon DCM-340 Five cd carousel changer - $20 (gorgeous)
ESS (Electro-Static Systems) 500 power amp - 250wpc stereo beast that blows a fuse every time it is powered up. Supposedly, a possible Nelson Pass amp. I don't know that for sure. Nice cosmetic condition. $100
Optonica (high-end Sharp) ST-3535 analog AM-FM tuna. Your basic, gorgeous, silver-face tuna. $25
Pinnacle PS-5 speakers - 5 1/4" ported two-way overachievers. $20
Onkyo 5 cd changer, Phillips CD recorder, Sony Mini-Disc players and recorders, stereo receivers, starter and intermediate turn-tables, mid-size Fried's, small Kefs (C-10's), Boston Acoustics 10" powered-sub (VERY nice), and more.
Reservations required.

Too bad you didn't come to last years PF! He just showed up after saying he couldn't make it.

Sony STR-V7 - Insanely large-**** 150wpc, 70's style receiver w/silver fascia. I think it is the most powerful receiver Sony ever made. Except for the new zillion wpc HT jobs. Needs a De-Oxit and MAYBE some fm work. I got the stereo indicator light to light up a couple times, but never stays lit.) $75
No, I got two hugs out of it.
I want to try and move this stuff locally, therefore the giveaway pricing. Shipping/packing is a pain in the ****, and there are some things I won't ship anyway. If I do ship, and have to make love to something in my garage for an hour and a half so I can ship it, somebody's paying for it. -
Damn I wish I wasn't on the other side of the continent and in a different country!! I'd be on that Sony STR-V7 like a fat kid on a smartie. Whoops, I'm sorry, I mean I'd be on it like a lean body mass challenged young person on a delicious colored candy coated chocolate treat!!SDA-1C (full mods)

I know he won't see it because I am on his **** list, but I will give two thumbs anthusiactically up for that Yamaha PX-3. It is one of the sweetest sounding tables you can get and for the price he is asking for it, you will be stealing it. I bought mine recently, new in the box and unused by the original owner since it was 3 or 4 months old. I paid 400.00 for it by the time I got it home. It is a sexy table to look at and really brings vinyl to life. If you are already into the black it is a great investment in an audiophile performer. If you are new to vinyl, this table is at least as good as any you can buy for under a grand, and most likely be the only table you will ever buy. A great table and a fantastic price! The Gear... Nice stuff George. I'd take you up on the PX-3 and the Sony STR-V7, however no time now for a road trip. Someone aught to be ALL OVER these two, at the bare minimum.
George is a complete stand-up guy..... We have swapped posts on another forum that shall go unnamed.
Buy with confidence.

George.
If you ever run across one of these old Sony amps (Sony TA-N80ES Amplifier
) I'm on the highway headed your way.
Regards,Carl -
George, Ill take that PX-3. I'll send you a PM in a bit--I'm still shopping your list.

This will be my first foray into turntables (well as an adult anyway).____________________

Hi George! I'd like to buy the Sony V7. I've been thinking about that receiver ever since I had it for a weekend. At that price I can send it to Tennessee to have the FM looked at.
Thanks,
Kevin -
Kevin,
Mike Madden is taking the turntable and also expressed interest (by way of PM) on the Sony STR-V7. If he passes it's yours. Should've taken it when you had it for the weekend! Welcome to the Polk Audio forums.
Kevin's a good guy that has been here (my home) a couple times. -

On the SAE stuff, is that $75 ea or for the set?Computer room Hegeman 1 SpeakersM&K VX-80 subKenwood DP-7010Cambridge Audio CXC Transport Rega DACPrimaLuna Prologue Four AmpAric Audio Tube PreampGarage Jennings Research SquareCustom tube preampCrown XLS-1000Denon DCD-1500II Modded MSB Link DAC -
George,
Can you port any pics of the beasty (electro-static thingy) amp and the boston acoustic sub? Any info on that amp, like online site and what it may take to repair? -
The SAE is $100/pair if I decide to ship, $75/pair local pick-up. Both pieces are from the '02 Series from SAE.
When my daughter gets home we'll see about some images. I have no idea where or how to get the thing repaired. I learned most of what I learned through googling.
The sub is a BA PV500 and doesn't have a scratch on it. -
George, how much do you want for the sub? I'll try to investigatge the amp further - is there a model number (or is it ESS 500)?
-
$70 for the sub and the amp model # is ESS 500. I mis-posted earlier. ESS is Electrostatic Sound Systems. Same company that was doing the Heil loudspeakers in the 70's.
-
Yeah, I should have grabbed it when I had the chance, George.:o
I'm not too regretful, though. I'm loving the Kenwood Eleven G and Sansui G4700 I got from you. My RTA-11TLs were lacking 'til I powered them with the Eleven G and V7. I've heard people say the V7 has a Marantz like sound. Never heard Marantz amps but I'd probably like them if they compare with the V7.
The Sony V7 is nice and smooth but can also belt it out with the volume turned up.
Mike should like the Sony. It's in beautiful condition....and it's a steal at $75.
Just park the car close to the house. That monster weighs a ton.:D

If I was one of you local yokels I would check out the mid-size Fried's They may surprise you

REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all
-
george
i will take the two sae pieces if you decide to ship, if not, maybe i can someone close to you to buy them for me and then ship them

I'll take the BA sub, curious about the Frieds and the ESS500, but can't commit just yet.
What is the model number of the Frieds? -
Frieds are Q3, black, and need a re-foam. Living room presentable all the way.
Yamaha table, Sony receiver and BA sub are spoken for. Maybe the SAE combo also. Starkiller, look for a PM.
Thank you! -
Just wanted to throw in that the SAE line of equipment was highly respected.
-
George...
PM sent about the Denon 5 disk CD changer.
Pycroft2 Channel/HT:
Sony SS-M9 P's (ES version)
Sony SS-M1CN Center Channel
Polk RT800 Surround Speakers
Odyssey Stratos Dual Mono Amplifiers
TAD 150 Signature Tube Preamp
Harman Kardon HK354
Sony SACD Player -
PM responded to. It's yours.
Denon changer is sold. Thank you! -
The SAE combo is NOT spoken for, and available again. $75 the pair local pick-up, $100/pair shipped in original boxes with original packing. No manuals. You pay actual shipping costs. And if you want it, I'll throw in the matching computer-controlled cassette deck. It's a BEAUTIFUL cassette deck. In its original box with original packing. When I got it, I started it up and it was a piece of work. All the lights lit, drawer opened very solidly. I put my Blind Faith cassette in there, closed the drawer (shut with a VERY solid thunk) and I haven't seen that cassette since then. Machine won't go into PLAY, and the drawer won't open. I would like my cassette back someday. This too can be yours for only the additional actual shipping cost. Or walk out of here with it and the other two for $75.
