System Purchase Advice

Hi all! I hope this isn't something that drives you all nuts, but I'd like some advice on a system I plan on putting together.

What I'm looking at is as follows:

AVR: Onkyo TX-SR607
Fronts: Polk Audio TSi400
Center: Polk Audio CS20
Rears: Polk Audio TSi300
Sub: Polk Audio PSW110

With the SR607 it is my understanding that I can bi-amp the front speakers, is that correct?

Overall I have to imagine that this should come together quite well, but if I have been short-sighted in my selections please let me know.

Thanks guys!

    Welcome to Club Polk.
Based on the back panel pic. of that Onkyo, it does say 'bi-amp front speakers' so, I'd say your good to go.
The flight plan you have filed checks out. You are cleard for take off:D
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Welcome to Club Polk! So far you're on the path to a nice system. From the little I've gathered (keep in mind everyone's ears are different) the Tsi series are a nice blend of speakers especially for home theater. Very warm/rich, with a tweeter that won't fatigue your ears. As far as bi-amping from your receiver, it's capable but I don't think it'd do a difference seeing as how the power all comes from the same amplifier/power supply. I could be wrong though because there are those few that hear a subtle difference. Could be wrong though...also give them a chance to break in once you get them, afterward they'll really begin to open up and unleash their full potential!

Ah, good news is what I was looking for. :)

None of you are personally acquainted with that particular Onkyo AVR, I'm presuming? How about Onkyo products in general?

And, Fonglio, very neat. I'm actually right across the road from Rose Valley; some excitement we've been having lately! It's good to meet someone so close to home. :D

Welcome Naoh. You are putting together a great system.

However, you would be better served to step up to the Onkyo 70-806 series. That will give you preouts to get separate amplification later on which will truly give you more power, rather than biamping off of a receiver which isn't even giving you the power it says it does.

    +10
I usually always mention "pre outs is a must" but I assumed this thing had some, glad someone else pointed that out!.

Crfrizz is right though, one day or another the upgrade bug WILL bite and you'll be left getting a whole nother receiver. Step up a model as suggested with preamp outputs while keeping all the features youre looking for in case you wish to add a seperate amp for better sound quality and more power. Also works well if you get rid of your speakers altogether and went with another approach.

Keeping that in mind, know that your amp and speakers are more susceptible to damage from being underpowered as opposed to being overpowered.
