My guess is they are some form of kit speaker. The drivers have butyl surrounds and that's a good thing for longivity. The tweeters look to be piezo. Circa 1980's perhaps.

I believe that's an alnico magnet, from the 70's, maybe 80's.

I would post this on Audiokarma.org, someone there may be able to help you.

Now that your intentions are obvious, boy are those things ugly!

I wonder how they figured out that driver placement. Did the engineers play pin the tail on the donkey?

The drivers look decent (although the piezos are screechy unless properly crossed-over; despite the mfgr. claims to the contrary). The woofer in the second photo was made in the 39th week of 1980. 433 is an EIA mfgr. code for Cleveland.

Not the same ones as in his picture. But very ugly still.

Okay, I take it back. They are not as much ugly as different. If I really think about it some SDA's are configured pretty strangely as well and some people who are used to conventional looking speakers may find them "ugly". The SDA 3.1's come to mind. Welcome to the club. Some people here are very sensitive because very often newbies show up and ask a couple of rudimentary questions but the real purpose is to sell their goods. This place is called "Club Polk" because it is just that....a club for Polk enthusiasts and audio junkies in general; but the fact that there is a flea market area where stuff can be sold by and to club members leaves it open to possible abuse from so called "new members" who frequently join only to sell goods. I hope you are not one of them and are in fact a Polk enthusiast like the members who posted above. They are only trying to keep the club real. Welcome.

Welcome to CP dlothamer! If you stick around, you might get hooked-up and might want to get away from the free bees and try some of the great Polk speakers some of the wealthier members on this board might have to offer at great pricing  Hey, free bees are priceless and can provide you with an economical way of toying/learning about speakers!

    Enjoy!

I don't see why you're all spazzing out on the guy...he's just looking for info on his speakers.

I don't think he's implied that he wishes to sell them here on Club Polk...just that he is going to sell them.

actually i have a set of polks that i love they are the studio 10s and i got those for $5.00, they are in mint condition, and they were 1 owner, i wasnt ever going to sell those other speakers on here, cmon now hence the name club polk audio, i just figured that if anyone knew what they were it would be someone on here, and yes i am going to sell them but through the paper or through another website but not ebay, they are to heavy to ship, so if you still want to keep bashing me then go for it, but its only words and if you were a real man about it you would drive up here and get these speakers and then say what you have to say about everything :D
