Hi,

I have a question that I hope to get answer for. This question is regarding the model S4 that I bought many years ago. Will someone please post the Electrical Specs for the S4?

Thanks in advance.

My neighbour has a pair of S4 but I never took a look at the specs. The only thing I remember is the 100watts power handling written on the back. The lower frequency should be similar to the RT5, 35, 35i and I think the tweeter used in it goes up to 26kHz.

    Maurice,

Thanks for the info. How much better is the RT38i compared to the S4?

I haven't heard the 38's. But I think it should sound better than the S4 because the 38's have a new tweeter, improved woofer, and Accoustic Resonance Control(not in the S4). I know that the 35i sounds better than the S4 because my neighbour moved the S4 to the back when he got the 35i and the 35i sounds better. The S4 still sounds very good though(pretty close to my RT5). You should find a good dealer with a good demo room and have a listen. I'm pretty sure most of the difference you'll hear will be from the tweeter. It all comes down to personal preference. You may end up liking the sound of your S4 more than the 38's.

I have 2 pairs of S4 speakers and I found the spec sheet in my filing cabinet. Attached is the PDF.

BTW, the S4s are quite nice bookshelf speakers with great sound. I would not hesitate to get a pair if they are in good shape. I recommend them.

And there you have it! Took almost 20 years for the answer but hopefully the wait was worth it! :D

I have a pair of S4 that I'm using as surrounds. As mains, they are ok but the port chuffs if driven hard.
