Lsi15 hook up

Hi everyone im am trying to hook up my lsi15s to my Rotel 1572 amp and will use onkyo 876 as pre amp but when i turn it on i get some sound but also get loud buzzing/static noise :mad:
Any advice please

    Now i have one speaker making loud buzzing sound and the other speaker there is sound but no bass what have i done wrong :confused:
    Any ideas anyone?

    Tell us how you have it hooked up. What cables, what jack to what jack.

    It will let us help you better. Pictures would be even better.

    Ok i have put the rca cable from the amp to the front pre outs of the onkyo and have then just hooked up the speakers to the amp normal basic hookup with signal cable with bare wire should i try and bi wire them will this make a difference?

    Sorry im confused this stuff is all new to me

    what are you trying to use for the source? And no bi wire will not make a difference in this case, you are already confused enough, so lets try to keep this as simple as possible for now.

    Leave the amp out, and hook it up to the Onkyo. If no buzz then the issue is either the connections between the Onkyo and the amp, or the amp. If there is a buzz then the problem is the Onkyo. Do not hook anything else up to the Onkyo. If there is no buzz use the tuner and make sure there is audio from the Onkyo. If that works then hook up the CD player and verify that works. Repeat with each component.

    Problem now its tooo loud and there is now volume control on the amp and lowering down the volume on the receiver doesnt do anything im looking through the manual now

    Zone 3 is probably a fixed output on the receiver.

    If you can find in the manual how to do a "factory reset" of your receiver, I'd do that. Sounds like you either have some settings that are preventing the primary outputs from working correctly, or there is something wrong with the receiver.

    Ok i seem to have identified the problem tried other rca interconnects and they work:D

    No not limerick I live in Galway by the way these speakers sound amazing:D bass is a bit weak especially for movies but thats easily solved.

    Do interconnects and speaker wire make a big difference cause the ones im using are cheap will i notice a big difference if i get say signal cables.

    I used to live in Limerick. Been to Galway a bucha times.
    And to answer your query....yes better quality cables will improve the sound quality.
    Look at like trying to run a Porche 911 Turbo without the turbo. Performance is there, but not if you refuse to use it......
