Tube preamp ideas for SS amp.

I have several Adcom amps to play with, and have started to consider a tube pre. I'm using a Adcom 5500 now, and would love to hear your opinions for a good tube preamp. I do listen to vinyl and like to see a processor loop if poss. I can spend $500. for sure, and maybe even $1,000. Big difference I know, so maybe you can make two reccomendations. I hear if your going to mix tube and SS, the best config. is tube pre, and SS amp. Thanks!

If you ever get up to Columbia you're welcome to bring your amps and try them out with my Carver C-19. It's an excellent sounding pre with SS amps and has a MM & MC phono section. No remote, but they are in your price range if you can find one.

The VTL TL 2.5 is very good and can be had with a remote.If you can do without a remote i would first recommend a used SAS Audiolabs 10A linestage or the Mapletree line 2A SE is supposed to be pretty sweet too.good luck....WCW IIIRogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's

Hagerman Clarinet tube pre-amp. You can build it for $600 with all premium capacitors. I use the Auricaps.
