I'm talking about the shark of Baltimore.
His 8th gold medal in Beijing sent his rivals on a whining marathon because he beat his main rival Milrod Cavic by a hair, only one hundredth of a second.
Cavic (also an incredible athlete, but unfortunately for him: a human one) took it like a man (give or take a tear) but many others screamed: conspiracy!!! conspiracy!!!

Yesterday, they met again, in the 100 fly finals of the word swimming championship in Italy.
This time Phelps did not leave any room for whining, doubt and most importantly hope for the competition: he set an amazing world record, 49:82, beating Cavic who also broke 50 seconds but did a 49:95.
Moreover, Phelps defiantly did not use the new breed of water-repellent-swimming-suites which are going to be banned after this championship (Cavic did use the super high tech one... and still couldn't catch Phelps... ).

14 Olympic gold medals, more then 10 (the World Championship is not over yet .. ) WC gold medals, more then 15 world records ... and he is only 24.

His name is Michael Phelps, he is the best there ever was.

    If you checked under his collar, you wouldn't be surprised to find some gills.
    In addition to being the best there is, he really seems like a good kid. What he doesn't or doesn't do in his off time, doesn't seem to prevent him from reaching his goals.
    *pointing* ---> WORLD RECORD
    Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
