Well that's better than the Refurb (although likely a new unit) plus shipping from PolkDirect on eBay. Well unless of course you win it at auction for less.

I was looking into that sub actually and noticed it dropped on newegg just a few days ago. Not a bad score at all considering refurbished its 349 on fleabay (polk ebay store). Unless someone chimes in and tells me what they can compare this sub to, I'd have to hear it first before I buy it.

It's a nice little sub, no SPL king but it blends very well for music. I've owned dual 4000's and a single 2000 and they're great. If you plan on using it for both HT and Music I'd look at the 3000 or 4000.

P.S. To the member that bought my 4000 I want it back.:D

DSW microPRO 1000 is NICE... I got it yesterday from Newegg for $379. Clean power. Still testing and will try to push it to it's limits but the wife has to be out the house.

One thing, who ever at Polk allowed these subs to go to market with it's ridiculous volume control system should be seriously flogged with a rubber hose. It's so stupid. They could have just used a small led display showing the volume numbers. Instead, you have to learn morse code to change the volume.

I have one and agree that the blinking led light scheme is probably the most ridiculous control system I have ever encounter on an audio product. Not that you should really have to change it often once it's calibrated, but still, was an LED display that much more in cost? For example, volume level 29, slow blink, another slow blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink. Wait was that 8 or 9 fast blinks? Let's try again, slow blink, another slow blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink, fast blink. Crazy.....But I like it now that it is set up.

    Amen!
Definitely a FAIL. I actually had to RTFM to figure out how to figure out where the volume was set.
I'm not a fan of digital volume controls to begin with, but at least some kind of readout like a level meter-even if just a series of LEDs. I like the old fashioned manual volume controls-and if remote volume is required then a motorized one.

I'm using the volume control on my Velo SMS-1 sub EQ so it doesn't impact me now, but the initial setting of the volume on the sub was a PITA--even if I didn't need the SMS-1 to correct my room's sub-bass issues, I'd still use it just for the volume controls.

Note: the Sub's own EQ did a pretty good job with the auto correction--I still needed to tweak a little more with the SMS-1, but close enough that if I didn't have an issue with the volume control, I probably wouldn't even have the SMS-1 in play.

Hmmm, I guess your opinion of small and mine are two different things. It's about 16x16 not including space for the cord. Not what I would consider small.

    You must be thinking about a different sub; the micropro 1000 is 12 5/8 x 11 x 12 3/4.

Crap. You are both right. I was thinking of the PSW1000. My bad, carry on.

That's why I made the comment. That sub isn't what I would consider small.

Anyhoo, back to your regularly scheduled program.....
