Looking to buy a pair of either Rti A9's, Ti500's or Monitor 70's and one or two pairs of Fxi's in the 5/50/A4's or A6. If you have a Csi A6 as well that would be great  Black preferred, would consider cherry though. Located in TN and would be willing to travel a couple hundred miles if needed.
Trying to upgrade to something new from my 10 year old JBL's.

Hi V , whats the jbl's like ? Will they be getting sold if your to acquire the speakers mentioned
-
Got my Csi A4 from the ebay store, but tax and some of the shipping charges just tend to be outrageous. Hoping newegg has another good sale that just recently ended on the Monitor 70's and Tsi500's.
JBL's are nothing special - four HLS820's. They were the first "real" speakers I bought so the only other things I have to compare with are a set of Monitor 50's that I recently purchased... which don't seem to compare too well. -

Thanks. Had been lurking for a while since getting my Polk sub and figured I'd bite the bullet and sign up.

Welcome to the club veekay, check Newegg on the 70's, they have em for $229.99 ea, free shipping. The 500's are around $400 ea. free shipping. I have the 70's and love them.

It's not that I'm insensitive, I just don't care.. -
The 70's were at $199 up until two days ago and I had a set of the 500's in my cart each with a free set of Tsi100's, but I wanted to see what promotion might come next... then of course it seems they dropped the freebies and just added a multivolume discount on the 500's =\ Ends up being $600 a pair, but unfortunately I also have to pay tax from newegg so I thought I'd see what others might have.
The 70's were at the top of my list, but figured for a little extra it might be worth going for the 500's -
Either way you're probably fine...the 500s are more aesthetically pleasing...better with the wife. I own M70s and agree with wutadumsn23 completely.
500s would be future proofing for 'looks' as the M70s are looking their age!
At that price point...you'd be hard-pressed to match their sound. The Rti-A9s are what I would upgrade to for HT if I were going to...but that's going to cost you! It is worth it though.
But, what do you mean about the M50s and the JBL comparsion above? Not following that.

I was just saying I only have my JBL's and a pair of Monitor 50's to compare with - so a lot of things are going to end up sounding better. This is for "my" media room, so looks aren't going to be a factor. Mainly looking for something with good highs/mids as I have two subs already. I had even thought about going bookshelf for the fronts with lsi9's. So many choices it seems.
