Psw10 question

I just purchased a PSW 10 to complete my systerm . I used an RCA cable with a Y adaptor to my Yamaha RX-V996 receiver. I've tried differnt settings on the receiver, but there is no response. Currently it's set on -9DB. The sub's low pass and volume are all the way up. The power switch is in auto.
I don't know what the phase switch should be set on. The reviews I've read on this sub have been reallly good. I'd like to get to enjoy it.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

In regards to using the phase switch, I would put on some bass-rich music and toggle between 0 and 180. Whatever gives you 'more' bass is what you should set it at. Reason behind this is because if your main speakers are out of phase with your subwoofer, they will be "competing" against each other and cancel out each others low-frequencies. So make sure its set in the correct position so theyre all in phase.

As far as nothing coming out of your subwoofer, make sure your receiver isn't set on a Direct mode (some receivers don't feed any audio through the LFE output while on Direct) or check your manual in case theres a function or setup feature to include a subwoofer.

It may be in the setup, make sure you have your subwoofer selection set to "Yes" or "Present" or whatever the case may be. Also, silly suggestion but you never know. Make sure you have the cable plugged into the Subwoofer 1 Pre-out and not the Multi channel subwoofer pre-out, they are pretty close together on the back of your AVR and could be easily mistaken for one another. Good luck and welcome to Club Polk.
