I think that video card is a notebook version of the 9600 GT which is a decent card and should be ok to play games on the 18" monitor. The more graphics intense games should still put up a good framerate so long as you keep the bells and whistles turned down a notch.

Crysis, Fallout 3, Dead Space, Left 4 Dead and Farcry 2 are about my favorite games right now but those are all available on Xbox 360 as well.

As for PC only games, Crysis Warhead is high up on the list of must plays especially for graphics and its got Jason Statham doing the character's vocals which is pretty damn cool. Sins of a Solar Empire would be another. Its more of a strategy game as opposed to a first person shooter type and I havent played it but it gets rave reviews everywhere. There is also the Warhammer and World of Warcraft games as well.

A good cheap one I recently bought was Painkiller. Awesome graphics and cool music. Kind of a mindless game, just a **** load of demons and monsters rushing at you with not much strategy but I got it for $9 off of Steam.

Crysis Warhead website, videos and screenshots.

Sins of a Solar Empire website.

Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2.

Thanks MacLeod- I ordered Crysis Warhead direct from EA. I loved the old Masters of Orion (the original) which seems what Sins of the Solar will be like, so I found that on Amazon. If I would add 6 bucks more it qualified me for free shipping so I added Painkiller which essentially was free that way.

Face I play orange box all the time on X360 so took that one off. I have played Left 4 Dead and agree it's a great game but tired of killing zombies. Will kill monsters instead! Anybody have other suggestions?

Your video card is going to be a bottleneck like MacLeod said, you will have to settle for lesser settings on some games. What gaming genres are you looking for? FPS, RTS...? There are way more genres available for PC that aren't available for consoles, maybe explore some of those?

Also, I recommend a good gaming mouse. G9 won't break the bank and it's really good:

I might have to upgrade my video card later- although got the best that HP offered. I am a bit disappointed they don't offer one of the newest gaming cards, although this is really more for multi-media than anything else. I wouldn't mind finding a good D&D style role playing game as well.

Well for your D&D fix there's always Neverwinter Nights and NWN 2. Graphically NWN 2 is better but the first is better gameplay IMO. Drakensang is another good D&D style game. In addition to the above mentioned Fallout 3, Crysis etc, Bioshock is a great looking game. If you didn't play it on 360, Mass Effect is definitely worth checking out, as well as Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2.

I think youll be ok with that card. Youre only rolling a 17" monitor so the resolution will be 1024 x 768 max which that card should be able to handle all day long.

Let me know how Crysis is. Im still running off integrated graphics and saving up for my very own HD4850 (possibly a 4870) so I cant play that or Dead Space til then.....and I really want to play Dead Space!!

Painkiller aint the worlds greatest games but its got some very cool scenery and graphics so for $6, its definitely worth it and a great time killer.
