you gave too little info as to how many channels you want, what speakers you are going to pair with, etc...

the following link has a very good deal on the adcom though.

Hes pairing it with some sda 1a's he just acquired. bbq, keep in mind not all amps sound the same so I suggest doing plenty of research and get some feedback on possible amps you might purchase, alot of members here have extensive knowledge and experience with many amps. I myself run a moscode tube amp and I love every bit of sound I get from my 1c's, others will chime in as well though whether youre looking for a solid state amp or a tube amp.

My brother needs an amp with 2ch is good enough. he has a pair of JBL L5 over 10 years old. one of the sub speakers was slightly bad with clicking sound when it loud, especially high bass. i wonder if JBL still carry the part for it, probably not.

How the GFA-555II compares to Carver or Parasound in general? he just gave the Parasound HCA-1500A for someone, so he needs something for replacement. I like this one but damn too expensive

Adcom 565 mono blocks. 300 wpc. You can get them on the cheap on ebay or the gon. The only thing to know is you will have to strap the speaker grounds and chasis together to make it common ground.

Location? There's a nice Hafler XL600 in Indianapolis for $450 i believe. It'll have more power than you should ever need.

Carver and Adcom are very good choices for your speakers. I would suggest a 2 Carver TFM 25's biamped. You should have little trouble staying within you budget.

Sorry bbq, but I need it for bi-amping my back surrounds. I'll be using my 2 TFM35's for that purpose.

I'm sorry that I can't help you with this bbq, but you could check out amongst other places www.vintagehifipgh.com

I would recommend a TFM-35 / 45 /or a 55. Great bang for the buck. You can prob. pick up a pair of 35's for 600.00 and run them in mono or biamped.
