Would anyone have any experience in matching this center channel with RTi A1 bookshelf speakers?

I know there is a companion center for these speakers, but it's considerably more expensive (about twice the cost actually).

My system currently is:

Samsung LNT40 HDTV
Samsung BR 1500
Yamaha RX-V 465 AVR
Speakers:
Front: RTi A1
Rear: old Bose 141

no center, no subwoofer yet.

thanks for any input on this

Everyones ears are different, they may not be timbre matched but some people would not be able to tell the difference. Its only something youd have to test out for yourself really.

They wouldn't really be a good match. Timbre matching the front soundstage is crucial to a good HT setup. Having timbre matched surrounds definitely has it's merits, but it's not as crucial as a timbre matched front soundstage.

The RTi's are rather bright sounding...whereas the CS10 has a really mellow sounding, laid back tweeter. I'd get one of the CSi series centers.

If you're on a budget, the CSi3 and the CSi5 can be had for pretty cheap.

well, how much are you looking to spend? i've got a black CSi-A4 center channel for sale, $150 + shipping. it matches the A1's perfectly...

whatever you decide to go with, IMO i would still take the time to get what you want or you will never be completely happy with it. go with a center that's timbre-matched to your speakers.
    Receiver: Yamaha RX-V863
    Center: PolkAudio CSi-A6
    Fronts: PolkAudio RTi-A1
    Surrounds: PolkAudio RTi-A1
    Subwoofer: Emotiva Ultra Sub 12
    TV: Toshiba 46" 1080p 120hz LCD
    Blu-Ray, DVD & Gaming: Playstation 3
    Logitech Harmony One Remote

thanks everyone for your replies. Ultimately, I decided this time for go for what's affordable rather than what Polk and others here recommend.

I got the CS10 for $130 new from amazon, while the CSi A4 goes for $280 (oddly amazon has the list price for about $50 more than even Polk's list price)

Anyway, now on to the subwoofer....

    thanks again!
