I have been trolling for a while looking at information trying to make a wise decision for what AVR to get to match my polk speakers. I am looking for a deal one either a SC-05 or a SC-07. My main issue right now is that i cant find an authorized online dealer that isnt in store pickup only. I was wondering if i could get some help keeping an eye out for a deal because i bet that other people are looking also.

This is going to be tough...Pioneer has been telling retailers to clear their inventory to make way for the new Elites. Your best bet is to find a Best Buy Magnolia store and hope they have one on clearance or are willing to negotiate on price. A lot of people I have spoken with did that. I tried one of the Best Buy Magnolias here in LA, but they weren't willing to negotiate much...they all operate independently when it comes to open box or clearance items. Luckily I found my SC-05 as a clearance item at Vanns.

If all else fails, you can still buy the SC-05 or 07 from an unauthorized dealer and buy a warranty through MACK or Squaretrade. The cost to get the same coverage the Elite warranty through Pioneer would get you is pretty low, and when it is all said and done, your total cost is still going to be an awesome deal. If I didn't have an SC-05 right now, I would probably buy an SC-05 through Ebay, get the 8% Bing cashback, and 2% back in Ebay bucks. It looks like there is one up on Ebay right now for $800, so your net cost would be about $720...and once you buy a Squaretrade or equivalent warranty, out of pocket for you will be between $800 and $900, depending on the coverage. For an $1800 receiver, that is still 50+% off and a great deal

Welcome to the "Club Polk Junkies Forum"

Call BestBuy I think you can get the SC-07 for under a grand' Don't quote me on this but I think you can, and it's worth a try.

Also call Pioneer and see about a refurbished one this is also worth a try.

    Larry.

Squaretrade and Mack suck balls. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A WARRANTY WITH THEM, THEY WILL F@&K YOU!!!!

Give HiFi a call at 920-494-8999, they had a few left when I called and their price was fairly reasonable. I think they will also run the purchase through the register so you get a store printed receipt versus an online printout.
