Hi all here's my stupid question
I have a pair of lsi15 4 ohm speakers and five 6 ohm speakers which will be powered by an onkyo 876 I will use the pre outs to power the lsi15 with a rotel 1572.
My question is what do I set the receiver to 4 ohm or 6 ohms do you even get to choose or is of all done automatic

Assuming that your Onkyo will handle the 6ohm load, you don't have to do anything.
You never have to change anything to set a reciever/amp to put out a different ohm rating.
Anyways, if you think about it, since you won't be powering the LSis with the reciever anyways, you only need to worry about the 6ohm.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

The 876, like most Onkyo receivers only have two options for speaker impedance. One option is "4 ohms" and that should only be used for speakers that have an impedance of 4 ohms but less than 6 ohms. The other option is "6 ohms" that should be used for speakers with an impedance between 6 and 16 ohms. It is on page 61 of your owners manual if you want to check it out and verify. So yours should be set to "6 ohms"HT Rig
