I am in the need for parts for my Denon DRM-700A 3-head cassette deck. I went to use it the other day and found to my horror that it was eating tapes. My son mentioned, "Oh yeah, that thing isn't working right." I looked in the tape well and saw that the take-up cog and spring were completely missing. My son told me that it fell off several days ago. "Where are the parts?", I asked. "I -on't know, I sat them on the counter...", was the response.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!

I checked Pacific Coast Parts and some others and no one has the mechanism parts any more, not that they ever sold I am watching fleabay but if anyone has a dead Denon deck that they want to part with, I may be interested.

The parts I need are pictured in the attachment. I need 2-8 retainer, 2-4 cog and the unlabeled spring.

Theres a DR-M07 single cassette player/recorder in "mint condition" on craigslist not too far from my area. Just thought I'd toss that out there if you think it would work for you and you might need it picked up, as well as a DRM-710. Let me know if either these 2 work for yours

What are they asking for these decks?

I just missed out on a DRM-710 on fleabay.

I hate to dismantle a working deck. I'd like to find a broken one for parts or just replace what I've got.

Eureka! I found the parts. The spring was under my stereo cabinet and the cog was stuck down in the mechanism. Now all I need to do is pilfer a retainer clip from another deck.
