Allison 1's ??

Anyone have any thoughts on these? They seem like they have potential.

    You see those for sale here in North Texas all the time. But at that price-

    Thats what I was thinking. If I were to buy them I'd have to be certain the modification with the tweeters were the correct choice.

    North Texas? I wonder why there of all places. I didn't notice where they were manufactured maybe that has something to do with it.

    They are wonderful speakers. They're designed to be placed up against the wall and out of corners; very 'room friendly'; Allison said they don't even have to be on the same wall. EDIT I don't think that price is out of line with the going eBay rate if they're in "minty" condition :-)

    Roy is still alive and kicking, by the way (as, actually, is Edgar Villchur, founder of AR).

    FYI and FWIW, I found my pair of Allison Ones at the dump...
