Setting up small HT, need some advice on back speakers.

Setting up a small HT in an upstairs room. The room is small, about 13 by 10(rounding up).

I currently have a pair of RTI A3's I plan to use as Mains. As this is a small(plaster) room, they will provide more then enough sound, and already sound fantastic with my AVR currently.

What I was wondering is what speakers from polk, would compliment those as back speakers. I have the center picked out already, just waiting for it to go on sale (Canadians get price gouged by big retailers).

Thanks for any advice.

The FXi A6 or FXi A4 are the recommended surrounds for the RTi line. Probably the FXi A4 for your smaller room would be fine.

    Welcome to CP,

I'm guessing a pair of fxiA4 for rear surrounds. IMO in a room that size you could even get away with a pair of Polk's entry level bookshelf speakers and still get nice surround. It just so happens I have a pair of R150's that I would be willing to part with.:D.

Either the FXi A6 or A4 are nice choices, but if you want to keep it on a budget you can get away with a pair of bookshelves as mentioned. As for the R150's I had those in my living room until relocating those for the bedroom, and liked them very much when I used them as surrounds. You don't have to worry too much about timbre matching rears as you don't get too much of a soundtrack off them anyway and for a small room you can wing it.

Where abouts do you live in Canada? No matter what, make sure to always check with https://www.visions.ca/catalogue/category/ProductResults.aspx?categoryId=0&searchText=speakers&brandId=64 since they often have good sales on Polk products. Check for deals at both FS and BB. Often your local Brick may have good deals (you must challenge them). Don't forget to also check with www.crutchfieldcanada.ca as they sometime have good deals and are just as well respected in Canada as they are in the US. The M10 sounds like a good rear for you unless you are willing to invest for better. Make sure you shop and wait till you get a good deal, a while back the M10 where going for next to nothing at visions.

    Cheers!

The OP best bet is to check and wait as they'll come back on sale again as its been going on and off for a while. Decide what you want , be patient and wait for the sale. Likely, it doesn't seem to be that much difference between US and CDN pricing if you check properly. IE: I believe the Polk PSW10 has been offered for 130$ US while it is on sale for 130$ CDN at FS this week. Wait for the right time!!!

Ya, I understand how audio gear works, always best to wait for a sale. I have been waiting for a good AVR to go on sale for the past year, and have seen nothing (most are $50 or $100 off a $1000 AVR). But, I also don't exactly know where to look. I normally just look at Bestbuy/Futureshop and some local stores that seem to think upping the prices will help them in some way.

Thanks for the links, I will keep an eye on everything.
