Easy system removal?

i am currently trying to think up some ideas for fullsize bronco i will be working on. it is my bro-n-law and he wants to be able to remove the subs and amp easily from the rear when needed for camping, trips, etc.
here is my current idea - don't know if it would work, but i know i am going to build a box for the amp to go on top of the sub box. jlaudio 1000/1 amp (2) jl10w3 subs. anyway i want to make a plug on the interior rear wheel well. something like a rv plug with the black plastic that would flip closed when not in use and just a loomed single cord coming from the amp box for p/g/r wires. the power and ground are 4 guage so i have to find an outlet that would handle that. it would have something similar on the opposite wheel well for the signal.
i would also put a toggle switch on the power and remote wires to kill all power when not in use. if anybody has any other ideas please please throw them at me. any idea is a good idea at this point. if my idea sounds stupid or needs more explaining please let me know.

Napa has 4awg quick disconnect plugs. They're not cheap, but a 4awg quick disconnect isnt going to be.
As far as a power wire 'switch,' your best bet is going to be a circuit breaker inline somewhere.

i think this is what i will use for the p & g -
Why dont you mount your amp somewhere on the side? That way all you have to do is un-hook the speaker, thats what I did because I didnt want to mess with unhooking a 2 gauge wire.

nice setup - i had thought about mounting it on the side somewhere, but it is a fullsize bronco with the removable rear top - so leaving the amp installed is a possibility, but for security with the top off, it would be nice to be able to remove it all

Thank you, yeah you would have to put it out of sight , and then theres the rain/watter issue. -
yeah wouldn't want to get that stuff caught in the rain - i don't know how often the top will be off - but just in case - hopefully i can get started on it in the next week or so - i'll try to post some pics when i do

good info...
I got a jeep wrangler in similar situation and lot less space available. -
Some amps are Marine Certified and will take the moisture.

i want to do a full size blazer one day for myself with a complete rhino lined interior and full marine system - i think that would be cool - but for now we will just stick with the amp we have for it - i'll let everybody know how it goes - i'll be delayed on getting started - he left for mustang week at the beach
