I really am thinking of the SVS subs as alot of people are, and after Hbomb got his and the rave reviews, I would like one, Not now but maybe in the months to come.. and proving i could unload my like new 404. I can afford the pci 20-39 for 599.00 regardless of what i need, that is what i could ever buy... Now i have a 12 x11 room =with 8 foot ceiling.. Would this work??

I have no plans of this purchase soon, but i have never actually asked Spec what size he thought would work for me, or really if the one i want will work.. I know it will, but just the thoughts of another,

Nap time for wife and kids so i am sitting in silence and thinking, enjoying the peace.. Let me know what ya think

We listen to music everyday, and movies mostly on weekends.... But we really appreciate watching movies and will most likely want the more oomph for movies , and music second

Spec is very knowledgable and they cut "us" discounts for his hard work when we ask i think

he got them to throw a prety good deal for me and i didnet even get 1 of their subs. i thing that dr just gets us good deals beacues we use him as a referance. theirfor the more peeps who ask him to hook them up the more likeley svs would do it.

That's a tiny square room - almost a sure thing for standing waves and a ragged FR. Have you ever run a sweep on the 404 to see how it looks in the room?

Anyway, the 20-39PCi will fill that room with more volume than you can stand. In fact, why not go for the 16-46PCi and get the extra extension because you sure won't need all the volume either can deliver.

No, I don't get a commission for referrals. SVS DOES appreciate customer referrals and the only reason I do support this company so strongly is because I believe they are unique in the audio industry for several reasons and I really dig their business ethic.

And while SVS always tops my list of recommended subs, I always include excellent and respected alternatives such as HSU, Velodyne, Paradigm, Adire, etc.

What more can a company like SV ask for than a customer that promotes their product plus has the technical expertise to assist in proper settup. What more can us folks on the forum ask for than the assistance Doc offers to us/Me in particular making a huge capital expendatures. If I spent that kind of dough and was dissapointed because I had ZERO assistance available my wife would KILL me.

Thanks Doc and I received the package and instructions. I wanted to run sweeps today but I got a surprise visit from executives and it trashed my day. Oh well? at least I have a job I guess...

Only one way to find out. 45 day no questions asked return policy.

The nice thing is they are very flat through the mid range (room-induced problems aside) and blend seamlessly with the mains. Ask HBomb what he thinks of the blending in his new system.

I have a long way to go regarding subs and layout but I was completely amazed at how NON Directional these subs are. With my PSW350 I could look at and point to where the sound came from. With these subs you just can't tell... Its just there! I can't describe it any better than that.

    You know why?

Your PSW350 was producing harmonic distortion and the second order at your filter point of 80 Hz is 160, which is easily localized.

The SVS produces essentially no HD, and that makes it hard to localize at 80. Some people can still localize at 80, but I suspect part of that might be 2nd order HD.

    Thanks Dr. Spec

I know my room is really small, we plan to hopefully either move or buy this place and add on a theater room, But that will be a year to 2 years down the road.. So i want something that will grow with my me but not overpower me/us.. Thanks for the advice and NO i still havent down the sweep, I actually would have but when i burn the sweep on cd it gets all messed up and not in order. I have built computers for years and burned cd's for ever and for someone reason i keep **** the CD up.. Go figure.. i will try and get it figured out and do the sweep..... and let ya know the result.. Thanks guys
