My neighbors stupid dog woke me up at 4:45

I owned dogs for allot of years and never put them out at 4:45 unattended to just bark and disturb the neighbors. Granted its very rare to ever hear that dog bark but it has happened before. After staying up past 11 trying to solve computer problems and now this I'm in a bad mood. Just getting real sick of all the inconsiderate dog owners around here, time to move I guess.

So next time your neighbor puts the dog out to bark that early in the morning, just shoot him. The neighbor, not the dog.

I have the same problem every day of the week here. My surrounding three neighbors all have dogs that they leave outside at least 20 hours a day, and don't pay attention or discipline them. So naturally, they bark constantly.

I work 5:30am-5pm most days. I get up at 4:30am every day. If the dogs are out there barking until midnite, i don't function very well, and i get rather grumpy. I've talked to the neighbors, i've screamed out the window at 2am to get them to shut their dogs up, i've called the cops, nothing.

So.... i'm moving. I gave up.

Good story huh? Sorry i couldn't do better, i'm running on my 4th consecutive night of less than 3 hours sleep.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Well the thing is they're really nice people but this just will not fly I guess I'll go talk to them later on. I already got into it bad with my other neighbor has two of the stupidest dogs ever so I'm trying to avoid that.

Sorry to hear, We have a city ordinance forbidding dogs barking but in order to enforce it I have to get the address a description of the dog time of day and then they will mail out a complaint, OH how scary and I have to do their damn job for them, what a joke! I just don't understand how some people can be so goddamn inconsiderate. We will be looking to move ASAP out to the country or mountains where the nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away!

I'm up at 4:40 every morning now (yuck). It sucks. But I also let the dogs out at that time. Luckily at that hour theres nothing to bark at and my dogs are small so they're easy to control.

I got an el-cheapo version of this a long time ago and it worked pretty good until it craped out and was going off all the time then all the dogs were barking and howling for days before I figured it out. I might have to give this another try, Thanks

Yep, that's what i'm doing. It's going to give me an hour commute, but i don't mind driving. But it's far enough out in the boonies that i have to drive on a dirt road to get there. I'm excited. :)

I don't even know if i have the option to take action like you do. The police simply tell me "We don't do barking dogs."

Really? Then who does? Because i sure don't.

But yes... i definitely feel ya.

If possible move to a restricted community where no dogs are allowed
although you may encounter a new issue or problem unexpectedly
    .....grass is greener

Have a good civil talk with the dog owners. Hope they will listen
    or
try SoundProofing, Ear Plugs to minimize the disturbance.

BLAST ultra high frequence sound thru your stereo and see if the neighbor's dogs react....need to protect your puppies though

all else fails.... time to move

IMO...I never could understand why someone would want a dog just to keep it outside all the time...dosn't seem like a pet to me.

Anyone ever try this? I don't have dog problems but this could be something to keep in mind if I ever do.

Same here. Or people who don't walk their dogs...come on! Willow is walked first thing in the am @ about 5. let out for a pee 645 then walked again at 430pm. Out for a pee at 9pm. Sometimes she will spend hours outside in the eve. If we hear her bark she gets in trouble ( depending on the reason of course)

I find the smaller dogs are the ones that I hear yapping all the time.... my neighbors across the street leave their dogs out all day and all they do is yap yap yap. Even with the owners standing right there next to them!

I have two Olde Bulldoggee's so I am a dog lover, that said mine are trained not to bark unless somethings up. I had the same problem with two neighbors and got tired of calling the police at 4 am. I picked up a train air horn off of ebay along with a remote control air switch (45.00 total) and ran a extra air hose from my garage compressor under my deck to where I mounted the air horn. It only took two times of unleashing 145db of train horn before they got the point and learned to be considerate.

just be careful... 145 db. spl may violate noise laws and you will get busted and not the dogs !

the High Frequency only the dogs will react

Start going to your town council meetings and try to get a barking dog ordinance adopted.

We have one that states dogs are not aloud to bark at any time, but trying to get them to enforce it is another thing

I like the train horn idea. Even if it's 145 db, they aren't going to have a cop sitting out there waiting with an SPL meter.

I don't know what it is exactly your looking at.

But anything from Innotek is SOLID. Any of there Anti Bark Collars WILL do the job.

So will there remote shock collar. Which is what I am using now to train my dog.

For a hard headed dog like mine. There amazing and I don't know what I would have done with out one...

Also. And the most important. Do not buy those cheapo jobs off ebay. Get a name brand and pay for it. You'll be glad you did in the long run...

Don't feel bad, the roosters crow 24/7 on St. Thomas USVI (and all the other islands). They are "free range" so it can/does happen right below your window! I sure bought a lot of pellets for my Crossman ! ( low power/non lethal)

rather go with something that has been experienced and found to be "SOLID"

I never play it that loud, and stop after 10pm even on the weekends, and I have all my stuff in the basement. Another reason I want to move to the country so I can blast it and not worry about disrupting the neighbors. Now my other jackass neighbor with the two stupid dogs will blast his stereo at 730 in the morning. I mean LOUD, but he is a dick.
