Does anyone know what model these polk speakers are? I believe they are from the 1980's. But not sure of the exact year.
Thanks for any insight.

Monitor 10's. Some great speakers. Very hard to beat for the prices they tend to go for.
The fact that they have SL1000 tweeters, and the emblems on the cabinet, rather than the grille, lead me to believe that they're Monitor 10B's. Produced around 1990.
And...yes, they're upside down. You might want to remedy that before you do any critical listening.;)
By the way, welcome to Club Polk!!:)

yup, those are the rare Upside Down Monitor 10s. Made for the Southern Hemisphere market; they never quite caught on. I think they forgot to account for the Coriolis Effect, so they had problems with inverted circular polarization.

I just blew coffee on the monitor after reading this. Thanks!!:D
I have monitor 10b and my emblems are on the grills, not the speakers themselves. -
I think these monitors will still be popping up when humanity is gone.
I can see a dog or a wolf turning a corner and almost hitting one or two.The dog or wolf will slow down turn around and think, Nice speakers, too bad there's no electicity anymore,..well..gotta go...:DMost people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Sorry that was bad I know. As a geologist I have to say that I was very impressed with your usage of the Coriolis Effect. We jokingly used to call it the Cornholious Effect in college (obviously inspired by Beavis and Butthead....heh...heh....cornholious effect). Maybe it's just a southern thing:)

That is very funny!!:D:D:D -
Wow, thanks for the welcome everyone. As forums go this one is quite friendly! And yes, I realized after I took the picture that they were upside down, but that is remedied now.
I did think about prefacing my first post with "i know they are upside down" but figured ya'll would have more fun letting me know.
As far as the speakers, they aren't exactly working properly, and i'm not too technically savvy. Being that I'm moving, and trying to downsize the load, they are on the chopping block. I was hoping to identify the model so that I could sell them, but i'm definitely having mixed emotions about doing so.
Thanks for the help, all! -
They are very nice vintage speakers.

Some folks say that you should rotate your drivers once in a while. I guess this is doing it the easy way.Stan
